My grandmother recently passed away. She has a solid oak trunk and a desk (both antique) at my aunt’s house in Florida. These pieces are very special to me emotionally and could never be replaced. However I am a very poor graduate student! How can I best get them here (Tennessee) from there (Florida)?

We do not know the weight of these items but I know they are solid and will weigh a lot.

Waiting is not an option. If I don’t get them now, I may never get them.

My father and I are interested in buying antiques at autions and estate sales and need a website to go to when we find something we are interested in.

The nautical theme is basically brass, nautical steering wheel on wall, clock, picture of water and birds in neutral colors, grays and browns, so very subtle but, not sure the old furniture is right.

My wife has an old dressor that is a family heirloom.She doesn’t want to restore it without knowing it won’t effect its value (a matter of originallity). It has come apart a bit and is in need of restoration. Can I just glue it back together with clamps, sand it down and throw a clear coat finish on it?

I hate my antique furniture. It was my great grandmothers. It is very squeaky and takes up allot of space in my room. I want to sell it and get a smaller bed that i would be able to use in collage but my parents don’t want to. They wont even listen to my idea. What can I do to at least get them to consider selling it?

I got a sofa and a matching chair from my granddad when he died.
