One of my favorite places to re-decorate with the seasons are my bathrooms…why? Because I’ve made them an eye-pleasing, neutral palate, that I can punch up with different towels, plants, ribbons, cords, and right now, Fall leaves in all the beautiful colors of Autumn. This is SOOO easy to do. And, inexpensive. All you need are some towels in colors that go with your bathroom AND with the season, some ribbon or cord or raffia, and a few plant sprigs. Here you can see my bathroom towels done up for Spring and Summer, then, you can see the transformation to Fall…

I have this great rustic halltree in my entryway that really needed to be decorated for Fall. I had just chalk painted some foam pumpkins and had some colorful Fall leaves…but something was missing. I needed to add height and some other textures to my rustic Fall centerpiece. So I did! My mom gave me this idea (she was a florist for nearly 20 years). This is how I made my rustic Fall candle centerpiece…

I saw these stunning photos of different types of pumpkins arranged for fall decorating in the latest Pottery Barn catalog. I fell in love…instantly. One of the focal points were these beautiful mercury glass pumpkins…I have a 3-year-old and a 1-year-old…I try to minimize breakables around the house, especially on kid accessible surfaces! So, I decided to try to make my own faux mercury glass pumpkins after finding this incredible post

(If you have other vinegar cleaning ideas you use that I don’t mention here, please add them with a comment at the bottom.) I never let my 3 year old daughter help clean with any of the cleaning liquids, but, I thought, “this one she could help me with!”

I spent all day yesterday working on some new chalk paint techniques, and painting several great finds…the hubby was kind enough to give me a full, uninterrupted day to simply paint and design (and the kids had a great time going fishing!) When I came home, tired and happy and really ready to see the family, I, once again, became keenly aware of the piles I have laying around! You know the kind? The stack of magazines that you really will read…one day. The kids toys that you will sort and rotate/donate…soon. The piles of “stuff” in the desk drawers that you had decided awhile back were really important and that you should take the time to go through…
