How can i have a piece of antique furniture, genuinely valued?

Is a 1800 French bed… I’ve seen anything from £1400 to £9000 … and dunno who to trust.

  1. Call an antique shop in your area that specializes in French furniture from that era and ask them for a referral to an appraiser. I’m sure that the same process we use here in the US to value antiques is used in Britian. In the states, you can also get referrals for appraisers from your insurance agent since often antiques need to be separately insured. Generally the appraiser assesses a fee and will give you a written value for your item.
