Equal parts natural linseed oil & vinegar, should do nicely.
Wash it with Murphy’s Oil Soap and wipe thoroughly.
vinegar i have found is the best, and if it is very bad use a damp cloth and a warm iron and steam it before using the vinegar.
Antique Restorer its made by gillespie works really well if you cant find this go to one of you local antique stores if they don’t sell this they will have something that will work
