How to paint a crib black w/ “distressed” look?

I have a light oak baby crib that I need to paint black, also I want to distress the piece. I also would like to do the same for some other random pieces of furniture (dresser, chair, etc.) can they all be done the same way? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much for your time! My baby is due the end of the year so I need to do this as quickly and cost efficiently as possible :)

(my husband will be doing to actual work, I just need a step-by-step or a good website to use)

tie to the back of your car and drag have something heavy to hold it down flat. The street will sand and distress the frame. Sounds crazy but this method cuts down the time from hitting it with a heavy metal chain.

stain it in a black color then when it’s dry sandpaper it in a random way for a distressed look

  3. I’ve heard you can take wax/candle and rub it on the areas you don’t want the paint and the paint will not adhere in those places. Roxanne

Distressed meaning beat up or that part of the paint is sanded off? WEll paint it black first then after its dry you could get a knife or razor blade and scrape off the paint from the edges then get sand paper, sponge, or you nail file and stand the edges to take off the paint alittleand thats all you do
