Im re-doing my bedroom and…?
Posted by Michelle on Jan 24, 2012 in shabby chic coffee table ideas | 1 commentI really want it to be urban-y and chic with a little bit of a natural vibe (wood and metal nature things). I want to paint the walls gray-i know it sounds depressing but the shade gonna be medium and i have tons of windows in the room so i should be ok. and i want a wooden coffee table with a leather sofa on one side of it and two matching chairs on the other side, with the table on top of a black and white patterned rug. I really like the way i imagine it in my head (i also found a picture that is almost exactly what i want-it came from one of those paint sellers.
The only problem is that i have no idea where to buy the furniture, etc. that i want. based on the description does anyone have any ideas. so far ive tried shabby chic (a little too romantic) and urban outfitters, which had a lot of stuff i liked.

You are asking for ideas or sources of furniture and accessories that will give you a urban-y chic style with a natural vibe. You have already selected a wall color, and you have a picture that is almost exactly what you want except it is of a living room and you are doing a bedroom?
The way you imagine it in your head is very specific, and as a designer I know that is a Good Thing! However, try to expand your ideas at this point and not decide on exact wall colors until you have all the rest of the elements of your envisioned style in place. Try WestElm, Bloomingdales Bedding, Art.com, shopwildthings.com, local thrift stores
and scout out some faux fur throws and pillows to add texture, smith and noble window treatments for natural woven wood shades for texture and beauty, also, Ethan Allen ready made curtains in white linen and wrought iron or stainless steel rods. Play with your ideas and develop a realistic budget so you can realize the dream!
