Need Romantic Bedroom Ideas but not too girlish.?
Posted by Michelle on Jan 12, 2012 in shabby chic bedroom chair | 4 commentsJust bought a new house and looking for some good decorating tips for my master bedroom. I am looking in the direction of shabby chic but my husband does not want anything too girlish or flowery. I just bought a set of white over stuffed chairs to place in front of the fireplace and the matching over sized ottoman. My bed frame is cherry and the carpet is beige with sort of a gold tone. The walls are painted a mocha. The Mantel is white and the painting over the fireplace is French and light. I have french doors to the balcony. I desperately need some tips on what do to make it both romantic and acceptable for a mans taste and my style. We have not touched the room since we moved because we can’t agree on the theme. Help!!!!

both of you sit down and discuss the matter like two adults and don’t get up until you both have made a MATURE decision. good luck, on the other hand immaturity could settle the problem also.
Try:
gold satin, silk, or velvet quilt or bedspread
gold drapes with white sheers beneath
gold pillows for chairs [ satin? ] and white dec pillows for bed [ velvet? ]
fat white or mocha candles, brass candleholders [ on mantel ]
white or gold vase with fav color flowers on dresser [ red roses? pink peonies? yellow tulips? ]
gold or mocha lamps with white shades
brass or white or crystal framed photos on bed table, or dresser etc.
OR
use a color[s] you like from the painting
rich fabrics: satin, silk, velvet [ would lace or eyelet be too much for your husb? ]
satin bedsheets of coarse and candles
I like maroon and medium brown walls, or just tan or off white, if you go with the mocha walls go with maroon/gold bedding or just marron bedding with gold curtains and red or multi beads, as for the chairs add maroon decorative pillows and above the fireplace add a pic of you and your hubby and have it monogrammed or paint your guys’ name above it, i hope this helps
