I want to redo my room and was wondering if chalkpaint comes in other colors than black
I’ve recently decorated my room black and gray. I have cute shabby chic furniture, a medium-gray rug and pale gray carpet. The accesories like mirrors, cushions, lighting are black, but it all looks so lifeless. What color can I blend in to make it look more lively and fun? And how?
Woops… medium gray carpet and pale gray walls*
I found a pretty hutch that has paint over varnish. I’m sanding the whole thing. I want a shabby chic look, but in black. What should I do to have this look in black?
My home, although relatively new, is chalk full of old, antique furniture… all courtesies of an obsessive and, quite frankly, idiotic mother who can’t pull her head out of the past. I assume that practically almost every piece of furniture in my immediate environment is caked with lead, and there’s not squat I can do about it, and in spite of any of my protests, this woman continues, continues, and continues to collect and to stockpile this dangerous crap in the household, where the pets lick it, roll around on it, etc…
But enough of a diatribe.
Apparently (as I just learned), the table that I’ve constantly ate off since childhood is hey, guess what, about fifty years old! So of course, I’m endlessly upset at this woman for the fact, but right now I’m just concerned with ascertaining whether or not a lead based paint was truly used on the thing or not. The table is wooden, and it’s been painted black. Due to its age, is the paint probably leaded?
Is it possible I’ve accumulated any lead in my body as a result of various dermal contact with the table, followed by subsequent meals?
Lastly, what is a good lead testing kit I could/should use, in order to either verify or dispel the presence of lead in the paint? And also, how do these kits work, exactly? Are there any harmful chemicals involved, do I need to scrape the painted surface…? I would like some help in this regard, as well.
I’m a 14 year old girl and at the moment I love brightish pink and deep purple, but it seems quite babyish. I’ve got a cool idea for one wall, I’m getting some magnetic chalk board paint, so I can draw all over that wall, and it’s black, so my question is what color should I do the rest of the walls? I have mostly pink furniture so I was thinking white, but it seems quite boring, is there anything cool I could do the other ones (Not too expensive!) but that doesn’t make it seem like a three year olds room? Thanks 🙂
