What color walls for my bedroom with black furniture and chocolate brown bedding?

The furniture is a distressed black and the bedding is chocolate brown and cream. floor is neutral carpet. any suggestions? We had always thought we were going to paint the room a warm, dark color but with all of the dark furniture, I think it may be too much.

You should definitely forget about a dark color. You need a bright color that will make your furniture pop. Try one of the more subtle colors in the bedding or accent pieces. Just whatever it is make sure it’s a light or bright color. Good luck!
Go for a warm, creamy beige. The cream in your bedding, or a lighter version of it, would be lovely.
Make sure that your color is warm and toasty, with no pink, green, or yellow undertones.
I’m not sure what your furniture or bedding looks like, but I’m thinking silver frames for photos and art work, and maybe some mercury glass accessories, such as candle holders and vases. For some reason – I don’t know why – I’m thinking your room has a modern, sophisticated look to it.
With the dark bedding and the dark furniture, soften and add texture with silk plants. Consider a silk ficus tree, or if you are good with plants, a real one. The greenery will pop against the creamy walls.
You’ll need mirrors, too, to reflect the light and add dimension to your space.
An unframed canvas art piece would look nice on your walls. Look for one to complement your bedding and other pieces.

I have a similar theme in my bedroom and I did a strip of flocked black wallpaper behind my bed,with a strip of chocolate brown either side of it,lovely!
I think if you like a dark color for the walls, you should do it on a smaller scale. If you do the entire room beige, you might really dislike it.
Choose two complementary light colors, one dark and one light. In a room like that, I’d focus on cafe au lait and then a deep, mocha brown. Choose a wall to paint that would best suit the deep color, and have that as your feature wall. All other walls can be the neutral light color.
The best painting tip I can give you for doing something like this is to paint the dark wall first. Let it completely dry, then put up painters tape around the edge so you don’t have overflow from the light.
Once you have the painting done, choose bits and pieces to complement the dark color. Black frames look great on beige/chocolate walls. With a neutral room, you can choose art work that is bright and has wild colors, such as orange or red.

I agree with the darker colored furniture you should go for lighter walls. I love black furniture and way to be bold and do brown and cream bedding. Maybe try a cream for the walls to somewhat bring in the cream from the bedding and floors. Try an off-white or light tan color! Or even go the opposite way and add in a touch of light blue-ish gray or green. Those mixtures are great together! Sounds like a fun painting project. Good luck!
